Master Sifu Markus Bötzl 6 ° PG

Personal info
At 15 1/2 years, in 1991, I started my WingTsun training under Sifu Roland Liebscher-Bracht. From 1991 to 1997 I completed the first 12 student grades.

I became an instructor in 1994, then headmaster of the academies of my teacher Frankfurt & Hofheim. In the period from 1997 to 2005 I completed the 1st to 4th grade.

Sifu
I was appointed to Sifu on 15.3.2003

Sifu is used in Chinese and Cantonese in two slightly different meanings.

Sifu (师父) is used as a respectful form of address for the teacher. In the Chinese martial arts (Wushu) or in teaching professions, it expresses the special respect for the teacher as a “fatherly master”. The second spelling of Sifu (师傅) literally means “Teacher Master” and is used as a general respectful form of address for any (older) male adult, such as a cook or taxi driver.

In Taiwan, however, Sifu (師父) is used as in Cantonese and mainland Chinese Sifu (师傅).

Academic teachers, on the other hand, are not addressed with “Sifu” but with “Laoshi” (老師).

Compare: Sensei, the Japanese, and Guru, the Indian equivalent.

Master of WingTsun
In October 2009, my teacher GM Kernspecht appointed me the master of WingTsun and handed me the 5th master degree. That’s why I am one of the world’s top ranked teachers of the EWTO.

Job & Career
WingTsun professional since 1999

At my WingTsun academies in Frankfurt & Hofheim, I conduct group and instructor lessons four to five hours a day, seven times a week. In addition, I continued to educate myself at the EWTO Trainer Academy as well as in private training with my teacher Master Sifu Roland Liebscher-Bracht and Grandmaster KR Kernspecht (10th Master Degree, Founder and Director of the European WingTsun Organization.) In addition, I gave violence prevention courses at universities, schools and companies, accompanied by my own examination courses.

I also gave 3 big success demos with my demo team for the EWTO. London 1998, Budogala 2001 and 25 years EWTO 2001.

Over the past 18 years, about 3,000 students have gone through my education, including many policemen, bouncers, teachers and educators. Currently, I have the highest teacher qualification in the European WingTsun Organization (EWTO). I also have a teaching qualification for Newman Escrima (Filipino Arms Martial Arts), ChiKung (Health System) and Kids / Women Violence Prevention. Today I am using the experience of over 18 years of teaching.

In my classes, I held the Frankfurt Akadmie Record with an average of 40 students per lesson. In addition, I had lived and worked in Colombia for nearly two years.

So WingTsun is and always was a great enrichment for my life, I want to share this experience and development with you. I am happy to cross my fists with yours.
